Macbeth

A production by students from Cambridge University in England. Each year, the Cambridge American Stage Tour (CAST) brings a near-professional quality performance of a Shakespeare play. Their annual performances at the Theatre have been outstanding.

Smithsonian At Little Washington

Opening concert of 20th Season: An all-Schubert program, including the "Trout" Quintet (the popular name for the Piano Quintet in A Major) and the "Arpeggione" Sonata in A Minor. Kenneth Slowik, piano, and, from the National Symphony Orchestra, James Lee, cello; Ira Gold, bass; Heather LeDoux Green, violin; Abigail Evans, viola.

Jacqueline Neimat and Friends

Music from Opera & Broadway: Jacqueline Neimat, soprano, Antonio Giuliano, tenor, Bryan Jackson, baritone, and George Peachey, piano, perform music by Mozart, Puccini, Verdi and Donizetti, followed by songs in a lighter vein - from operetta and Broadway.

Katrzyna Marzec-Salwinski

Piano Recital: The program will include Rondo in C minor, op. 1, by Frédéric Chopin; Barcarolle in F Sharp Major, op. 60, by Frédéric Chopin; Sonata in F Sharp minor, op. 11, by Robert Schumann; Romances, by Clara Schumann; and music by J.S. Bach. The fine Polish pianist made her debut as a soloist with the Czestochowa Philharmonic Orchestra in 1992 before completing her musical education in the United States. She has performed in Europe, throughout the United States, in the Middle East and in Japan.

Naoko Takao

Piano Recital: An all-Beethoven concert: Sonata in C Major, op. 2 no. 3; Sonata in B-flat Major, op. 22; Sonata in E minor, op. 90; and Sonata in E-flat Major, op. 81a "Les Adieux". Naoko Takao, a native of Japan, has been a recipient of many awards including the gold medal at the 2000 San Antonio International Piano Competition. She has given concerts as Artist in Residence at Strathmore, at the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater and in numerous other venues throughout the United States and abroad.

Smithsonian At Little Washington

An all-Schumann program, including the Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, op. 47, and the Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, op. 44. Smithsonian Chamber Players: Vera Beths and Marilyn McDonald, violins; Douglas McNabney, viola; Kenneth Slowik, cello; Lambert Orkis, piano.

Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo

Frank Vignola, one of America's great jazz guitarists and a firm favorite at the Theatre, will be joined by the youthful and gifted Vinny Raniolo for their second duo performance at the Theatre this year. The large and enthusiastic audience who welcomed them in January will be delighted to have this opportunity to enjoy a return engagement.
