About The Theatre

The Theatre seats 218 and the town's population is below 200. So, the Theatre is fortunate in being able to draw audiences from the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, Charlottesville, and the whole of Northern Virginia and beyond. Many of its programs are presented for just one performance. In 2004, the Theatre purchased a new grand piano, a Kawai 6'6" RX-5 Artist Grand. Excellent acoustics and an intimate, yet comfortable and professional atmosphere, have made it possible to attract gifted performers and appreciative audiences.

Theatre Dimensions

• The stage is 38" above the auditorium
• The width of the stage is 24' 6"
• Total depth including apron is 19' 9"
• Apron is 2' 6"
• There are non-movable flats, each 2' 6" wide on either side of the stage, setting   off the apron
• The proscenium opening is approximately 19' 6" by 15'
• There are 218 seats in the theatre, of which 45 are in the balcony
• There is a center aisle in the auditorium leading from the lobby to the stage
• The acoustics of the theatre are excellent

Rental Availability

When The Theatre is not otherwise in use, it is available for rent to individuals, groups, and companies wishing to present performances. Please contact THE THEATRE for rates and availability.
