Alan Jabbour, fiddle, Ken Perlman, banjo, and Jim Watson, guitar, mandolin and vocals, bring a wealth of talent and experience in Appalachian folk music. Alan and Ken have delighted audiences here in the past. This year they are joined by Jim who has been playing bass and singing with Robin and Linda Williams’ Fine Group since 1988. Beethoven: Piano Sonata in E-flat major, Op. 31, No. 3; Rachmaninov: Prelude in C minor, Op. 23, No. 7; Prelude in D major, Op. 23, No. 4; Prelude in D-flat major, Op. 23, No. 2; Ravel: Sonatine Modéré; Chopin: Nocturne in D-flat major, Op. 27, No. 2; Fantasie-impromptu in C-sharp minor, Op. 66; Polonaise-fantasie, Op. 61. Naoko Takao, a native of Japan, enjoys an active career as recitalist, orchestral soloist, and chamber musician, in the United States and abroad. Since coming to the U.S. in 1984, she has received many awards and scholarships including the gold medal in the 2000 San Antonio International Piano Competition. Tickets $20 adults, $5 under 18.

Celtic Music to Celebrate the Coming of Spring

Members of the Washington Revels chorus join with the Ocean Quartet: Jennifer Cutting (accordions and keyboard), Lisa Moscatiello (vocals, guitar, penny whistle), Glyn Collinson (vocals, guitar, bouzouki), and Stephen Winick (vocals). Ocean's soaring vocals, fiery fiddle tunes and rollicking button accordion will have your heart swelling and your toes tapping while members of the Washington Revels chorus will have you singing along with songs that stretch back for centuries. There will even be a special guest appearance by the ancient Green Man, also known as Jack-in-the-Green. Tickets $20 adults, $5 under 18.

After Wings disbanded, LJ moved to Los Angeles and developed his reputation as a world-class guitar virtuoso. He has released 14 critically acclaimed solo albums, including "LJ Plays the Beatles." His new release, "Wooden Horses" is loaded with groove-driven originals shaded in jazz, blues, rock and folk flavors.
