The Theatre's Spring Schedule includes not only "Gypsy Grass", but also two "all star" performances from the Statesmen of Jazz; an evening with Ben Jones; the return of classic Appalachian tunes; a piano recital; chamber music performances; music from opera; and an evening with the Washington Saxophone Quartet.

The Schedule is subject to changes and additions.

For all performances presented by the Theatre, tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students eighteen and under. Reservations are recommended: (540) 675-1253 or TheatreVA@aol.com

Movies are presented at the Theatre by the Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community. (No reservations taken for films.)

Three community events will be held at the Theatre for which there is no admission charge.

There are productions presented by others at the Theatre and for these the Theatre cannot take reservations and the Schedule shows the phone number of each presenter for inquiries and reservations.

Naoko Takao, piano

Japanese pianist Naoko Takao returns to the Theatre with a solo performance that includes music of Bach, Chopin, Ravel and Robert Gibson. Ms. Takao recently completed a series of recitals at Strathmore Hall as part of its "Artist in Residence" program.

from The Kennedy Center Chamber Players

The first of two concerts of the Complete Sonatas and Variations for Piano and Cello by Ludwig van Beethoven. With this inspired music, the early works of which were written to impress King Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia, Beethoven introduced into the world a new musical genre featuring the cello, demonstrated his daring as a composer, and his skill as a piano virtuoso.

Saturday, May 26 at 8 pm "SONGS FOR A SPRING NIGHT"
Ben "Cooter" Jones, vocals; Bill Harris, piano

The Great American Songbook with the Rappahannock Jazz Ensemble, which is appropriately named since both Ben Jones and Bill Harris are Rappahannock residents, besides being nationally known artists. The concert will be their salute to America's Great Songwritrs. Almost all the tunes to be heard were written in the golden age of the '30s and '40s. Bassist for the upcoming concert in "Little" Washington will be the experienced musician David Jernigan, who has been recording with Harris for over twenty years.
