The Theatre is dark over the summer, from mid-June through August, except for films presented by RAAC.

In our September-December 2005 Schedule, we are listing the programs that we currently have tentatively scheduled for the Fall 2005 Season at the Theatre. Several other programs for the Fall are under consideration. They will be added to the Schedule as their dates are confirmed.

The Theatre's Schedule is always subject to changes and additions, and advance reservations are recommended, except for the films for which no reservations are taken.

Rappahannock County's fourteenth annual celebration honoring the great civil rights leader, the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Guest speaker: Larry Rogers, Mayor of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Soloist: Laura Walker Nelson of Culpeper. A community event. No admission charge. Open, unreserved seating.

Comedy, Music, Bribery and Conspiracy

The famous political humorist and satirist Mark Russell presents his unique perspective on the current political scene. The Mark Russell Comedy Specials are among the top-rated shows on PBS, where they have been enjoyed by innumerable fans for the last twenty-seven years. TV Guide has called Mark Russell "the funniest man on television." THIS SHOW IS SOLD OUT!

The Annual James A. Bland Memorial Music Contest organized by the Rappahannock Lions Club for all students who live in or attend a school located in Rappahannock County. A community event. No admission charge. Open, unreserved seating.

Music: Byrd & Bach performed on 4 violas da gamba

The final concert in this season's Smithsonian at Little Washington series. Kenneth Slowik, Wendy Gillespie, Jonathan Manson and Craig Trompeter. William Byrd's Mass for Four Voices (1592) (instrumental version); Johann Sebastian Bach's The Art of Fugue, a work which Kenneth Slowik, artistic director of the Chamber Music Program at the National Museum of American History, describes as "perhaps the greatest exposition of the possibilities of counterpoint, written by the Baroque period's most ingenious and subtle of its exponents." The 1989 play about honor, on which the popular film was based, keeps audiences guessing who is responsible for a homicide -- and whether justice will be served in the courtroom.

Frank Vignola, guitar and Joe Ascione, percussion

Six months after their concert at the Theatre last fall, Vignola and Ascione return with their "merry band of New York music makers" in time to celebrate the release of their second CD.
